Documentation

We liaise with the “Citizen Services” section of the foreign consulates in Washington, D.C. We work with foreign consulates to secure travel documents for patients and our medical staff, who will accompany the patient back to their home country so they can reunite with their families.

We secure the safest, most cost-effective means for repatriating patients. Our aero-medically trained team has extensive experience and established relationships with most major airlines.

High Costs for Hospitals

International patients can present unique challenges to hospitals once their condition has been stabilized and the acute care phase of their treatment has concluded. If these patients have medical insurance coverage in the United States, their insurance often does not cover rehabilitation or long-term care. Additionally, most foreign insurance does not provide repatriation services for patients who are unable to travel on their own after hospitalization.

When these patients are uninsured, they may not have the resources to pay hospital bills, let alone the costs associated with outpatient and rehabilitation care. Many international patients often have little or no social support locally, so discharge to family caregivers in the area is not an option. If these patients are undocumented or have expired travel documents, going through the process of obtaining the needed authorizations for travel to their home country is complicated and time-consuming.
